The Goodness app is designed to provide users with access to bible content and related features. Some features of the App require user authentication. By using the Goodness app, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not use the App.

A. Information You Provide to Us Directly:

  • Authentication Data: When you sign in to the App using your Google or Apple account, we collect the following information from your chosen authentication provider:

    • Email Address: Your email address.
    • Profile Picture URL: A URL to your profile picture (if available from the authentication provider).
  • User-Selected Country: Upon your first sign-in, you will be prompted to select your country. This selection is stored in our database.
  • Content You Create or Submit:
    • Favorite Verses: Verses you mark as favorites within the App.
    • Prayer Wall Submissions: Prayers you add to the Prayer Wall. Please note that when you post on the Prayer Wall, your Name and User-Selected Country will be visible to other signed-in users.
  • Contact Us Form Data: If you use the "Contact Us" form within the App, as you are a signed-in user, we will associate your inquiry with your existing Name and Email Address. We also collect the content of your message.

B. Information Collected Automatically:

  • Usage Data (via Google Analytics): We use Google Analytics to collect information about how you interact with our App. This helps us understand user behavior and improve the App's functionality and user experience. The data collected by Google Analytics may include information such as your device type, operating system, app usage patterns, and other statistical data. This data is generally non-identifying, but if combined with other information, it might be possible to identify you.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for various purposes, including:

  • To Provide and Maintain the App: To operate, deliver, and improve the functionality of the Goodness app.
  • To Personalize Your Experience: To remember your settings and preferences, such as your favorite verses and selected country.
  • For Authentication: To allow you to securely log in and access features requiring an account.
  • To Facilitate Social Interaction: To display your Name and User-Selected Country alongside your prayer requests on the Prayer Wall for community interaction.
  • To Communicate with You: To respond to your inquiries submitted via the "Contact Us" form.
  • For Analytics and Improvement: To monitor and analyze App usage and trends to understand user behavior, improve our services, and develop new features.
  • For Security: To maintain the security and integrity of our App and prevent fraudulent activities.
  • For Future Advertising: While we do not currently use ads, we may integrate advertising services (such as Google AdMob) in the future. Your data may be used to serve personalized or non-personalized ads, and you will have the option to subscribe to the App to opt out of ads.

4. How We Share Your Information

  • With Other Users: As explicitly stated, your Name and User-Selected Country will be visible to other signed-in users when you post on the Prayer Wall.
  • With Service Providers: We use third-party service providers, such as Firebase (for Google authentication, database, and backend services) and Google Analytics, to assist us in operating our App and performing related services. These providers have access to your information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court order or government agency).
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your personal information may be transferred. We will provide notice before your personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.

  • User Account Data: We retain your account data (Name, Email, Profile Picture URL, User-Selected Country, Favorite Verses, Prayer Wall submissions) for as long as your account is active.

  • Deleted Accounts: If you request account deletion, we will delete all associated data within thirty (30) days of receiving your email request.

6. Data Security

The security of your data is paramount to us. We implement a variety of security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. All data is secured using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption. We utilize Firebase, which provides robust security features and is completely integrated into our App, to ensure adequate data protection and adhere to the latest industry standards. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

7. International Data Transfers

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to and maintained on servers located in the United States, where our servers are currently situated. Data protection laws in the United States may be different from those in your country of residence. By using the Goodness app, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States. We ensure that any transfers of personal data outside your jurisdiction comply with applicable data protection laws, including by relying on Firebase's adherence to data protection standards.

8. Children's Privacy

The Goodness app is intended for use by any person above 5 years of age. However, children under the age of 13 should use the App only under parental supervision. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. 9. Payments

We do not collect any payment details directly. All payments for subscriptions or in-app purchases are processed securely through Google Play Payment or Apple App Store payment channels. Your payment information is subject to the privacy policies of Google Play and Apple App Store, respectively.

  • Google & Apple Authentication: We are not responsible for the data collected by Google or Apple during their respective authentication processes or for their independent use of your data.   • Google Analytics: Your use of the App is subject to the Google Analytics Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
  • Future Ad Services: In the future, if we implement ad services like Google AdMob, your use of the App will also be subject to the privacy policies of those ad service providers.
